Vampire Weekend

I have been earwormed all morning by a song I have discovered is called "Harmony Hall" by Vampire Weekend. I knew their name but never really knew their music at all until recently. I have heard it on the radio when driving around in the car.

I did a bit of surfing to find out more and they've had four albums out and have been going for ages and are just one of those things that reminds me of how old I am and how much time has passed...but equally how impossible it gets as you get older to know everything that is going on and to stay focused on something like pop music, especially with the explosion of the internet and media and so on.

It is very hooky with that odd chorus that goes "I don't wanna live like this, but I don't wanna die" and the fiddly little guitar motif. It also sounds good coming off the radio transmitter, whisping across the ether like a sandstorm. That's how I visualise electromagnetic waves, like radio waves, like whipcords drifting across the land and sea, like snakes slithering and like sand being blown into the land from the shoreline.
